Types of Skill Assessment:
- Modified Skill Assessment: It is designed specifically for those who want to register to practice medicine in Australia but finished their schooling elsewhere. The evaluation determines the applicant’s eligibility for registration by looking at their relevant credentials, experience, and educational background.
- Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible to apply for the Modified Skills Assessment, a nurse or midwife in Australia or New Zealand must hold a valid registration. A nursing qualification is required.
- Modified Plus Skill Assessment: An improved version of the Modified Skills Assessment is called the Modified Plus Skills Assessment. It is intended for candidates with substantial work experience in addition to nursing or midwifery degrees, which may make up for any gaps in their educational background. This evaluation looks beyond a candidate’s degree of education to take into account a wider range of their experience and abilities.
- Eligibility Criteria: Maintain your current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (“Notice of in-principle approval of registration subject to proof of identity”) notification (AHPRA).A nursing qualification is required. Enrolled Nurse: This role is unqualified for me.
- Full Skill Assessment:
1. Registered nurse: You are eligible for a full skills assessment if you are registered as a registered nurse in one of the following countries and have a minimum Bachelor of Nursing degree from Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, the United Kingdom, or the United States (excluding sole qualification post-graduate Master’s degrees). - 2. Registered midwife: You are eligible for a full skills evaluation if you possess a minimum Bachelor of Midwifery degree from Ireland, the United Kingdom, or the United States, as well as registration as a registered midwife.
- 3. Enrolled Nurse: You are not eligible for a full skills evaluation.
- 4. Eligibility Criteria: Possess a valid driver’s license issued in a nation other than Australia or New Zealand. A nursing qualification is required. Enrolled Nurse: This role is unqualified for me.
Documents Check list for ANMAC Skill Assessment:
- Identity Proof: Identity documents include Passport, Passport size photograph, Any name change document.
- Educational Documents: Certificates and Transcript of Nursing qualification.
- Verification Document: Registration Certificate of Nursing.
- Work Experience: A qualified experience that satisfies ANMAC requirements.
- Further Information: Experience obtained prior to the Nursing Body’s Registration Date will not be accepted by ANMAC.
- Original papers in color, 600 dpi copy.
- Certified copies or cam scanners are not accepted.
- Additionally needed for the Modified Plus Skills Assessment is a letter from APHRA.
- If submitting a professional reference, a certificate of good standing or proof of registration will also need to be submitted.
